Travel lessons

Apparently Spain is THE destination for families with young children this August. There were four kids under four in my immediate vicinity, and I'm not sure what was worse: listening to one wailing every 15 minutes for 15 minutes, or listening to the parents parenting ("go to sleep, go sleep, go to sleep")

I've been in three of the most insane airports in the last month: Denver, JFK and now Madrid. This airport is enormous. And yet - no ATMs. Sure. I also feel comfortable saying I've been to Europe enough to know that Europeans have a complete disregard for lines. That said, THEY LOVE lining up for flights. We had a good laugh last year on our Ryan Air flights about this, but it's not just a Ryan Air thing. Even at JFK, people were queuing up before boarding had even begun.

One thing I always seem to forget is that these people over here don't speak my language. Inconvenient. I've actually been studying up on Portguese, but am hoping Liza's Italianish (Spanian?) will get us through. Let this be the first point when i ask what value WB is going to bring to this trip. They say there are far fewer English speakers in Pgal then the rest of Europe, sooooo...there's that.
